MOVIE TO WATCH; AMERICAN VIOLET

I'm not really a movie watcher honestly I've been addicted to cross word puzzles, ruzzle and youtube. On a family night I decided the browse Netflix and see what I can find that worth me not falling asleep in the middle of the movie and making promises to finish it and never do. I was surpised when I came across AMERICAN VIOLET.

Set in the midst of the 2000 presidential election, American Violet tells the story of Dee Roberts (Nicole Beharie), a 24 year-old African-American single mother of four, living in the town of Melody (based after Hearne, Texas where the real incident took place). One day, while Dee is working a shift at the local diner, the powerful local district attorney (Michael O'Keefe) leads a drug bust, sweeping Dee’s housing project. Police drag Dee from work in handcuffs, dumping her in the women’s county prison. Indicted based on the uncorroborated word of a single and dubious police informant facing his own drug charges, Dee soon discovers she has been charged as a drug dealer.

Even though Dee has no prior drug record and no drugs were found on her in the raid or any subsequent searches, she is offered a hellish choice: plead guilty and go home as a convicted felon or remain in prison and fight the charges thus, jeopardizing her custody and risking a long prison sentence. Despite the urgings of her mother (Alfre Woodard), and with her freedom and the custody of her children at stake, she chooses to fight the district attorney. Dee works with an ACLU attorney (Tim Blake Nelson) and a former local narcotics officer (Will Patton) to take on the Texas justice system.[3]

PRETTY JEWELS

I have never been one to go by the models I see model clothes for asos.com because If I did I would miss out on great clothing.  After being cooped up In the house I decided a night of laughs was just what the doctor ordered. Now everyone knows I love  a good laugh and funny man Lavelle Crawford was performing at the Miami Improv. So of course I had to be In the place! I decided on this jeweled body dress from asos.com. I decided to go with a UK16 which ends up feeling like a US 18.

DON'T BREAK THE BANK: FIX THAT MAKE UP!

So everyone has done it including me maybe you didn't see it on the corner on the counter and BAM! My favorite powder is ruined and I do what anyone else would throw it in the trash right? WRONG! I have discovered a way to fix that make up in no time and it's so simple. I share everything I find with you ladies and gents and this time is no different.

Things You'll Need

  • Pancake makeup
  • Fork
  • Rubbing alcohol

InstructionsRepairing Broken Pancake Makeup

Things You'll Need
Pancake makeup
 Fork
 Rubbing alcohol
 Small container

Crush any remaining intact pieces of makeup with a fork until it is fine and resembles baby powder. Every little piece of makeup must be mashed smoothly or it cannot be uniformly repaired.

Pour a small amount of rubbing alcohol into a small container. Insert an eyedropper into the rubbing alcohol and squeeze the bulb end of the eyedropper firmly. Fill the dropper completely. Place a few drops of rubbing alcohol directly onto the powdered makeup. Stir gently. Add more rubbing alcohol until the powder is thoroughly wet. Always add the rubbing alcohol slowly, you can add more rubbing alcohol if it's needed, but it is hard to remove any excess liquid from the makeup.

Press the makeup paste into the compact using a Popsicle stick. Make sure that the makeup paste is flat and even. An even surface will make later application much easier.

Set the makeup container onto a flat surface. Leave the lid open and allow the makeup mixture to completely air dry before using. There may be a faint alcohol smell in your makeup. Don't worry. It will dissipate as the makeup dries.

Now don't get to caught up in the after look of things as long as it gets the job done and you can  save a few bucks is a good day in my book.
