CURVY AND FURY FASHION!

CURVY AND FURY FASHION:

It has become apparent living in South Florida that I will never  have the need to wear fur and it upsets me sometimes. I  have loved the idea of fun and colorful fur during winter/fall since forever. Is it just me or does fur make you feel classy as well? I  have noticed several sites stepping up to plate and catering to curvy women and their desire to stay relevant and up to date on the latest trends. You know there was a time not to long along when we couldn't get more than one bathing suit choice at forever 21. I am grateful that some vendors and retailers have heard our complaints and make substantial change.

Here are my current fur obsessions I spotted one at forever 21 but it didn't last too long. It was sold out before I could make to my purse to get my debit card. If you purchase some of these coats today most are on sale for 20% to 40% off for Cyber Monday.

SOMEONE YOU SHOULD KNOW:NATURALLY FASHIONABLE

When I usually write the blog post "someone you should know" it usually involves someone I've never met but admire from a distance. That would be the case up for this lovely young lady  until FFF Week 2013 when I had the pleasure of meeting her in person. I've always admired her classy demeanor and  her daily looks from natural hair inspirations to detailed body type information. I absolutely adore her and within a few minutes of visiting her blog you will too!

I reached out to Kim of Naturally Fashionable to ask her a few questions about her love of a fashion and here's what she had to say:

1. What does FASHION mean to you?  Fashion is truly a form of
self-expression.  Your clothing reveals who you are before you ever
speak a word.

2. What are some of your favorite trends that are happening right now?
I am loving colored denim, floral prints, and the neon trend.

3. What are your 3 favorite hot spots to hit and find haute pieces?
I shop everywhere, but my favorite places are H&M, Dorothy Perkins, and ASOS.

4. What trends do you love that mostly describe and inspire your style?
The "Ladylike" trend most inspires me because I would describe my
style as classic.  I love my clothes to have a tailored look and fit
my curves perfectly.

    5. What are 3 things in your closet that you can NOT live without?
I truly cannot live without a great pair of fitted jeans, a sharp
blazer, and accessories.

6. What tips can you give  readers on how to achieve stylish looks?
I would say make sure that you understand your body type.  Do you have
a hourglass, straight, or pear-shaped figure?  Questions like this
must be answered before you can identify your style and what type of
clothing will look best on your body.

7. Who do you look up to in the fashion industry? And who are your top
3 most fashionable celebs?
I really look up to designers like Michael Kors and Rachel Roy.  They
design clothing that correspond with my taste and style in clothing.
I also admire the style of Kerry Washington, Nicole Richie, and Sarah
Jessica Parker.  They all wear timeless pieces.

HAS THE REVEREND GONE TO FAR?: EXTREME DIET OR HEALTHY LIVING?

Credit: SandraRose

I have read recent articles of Rev. Al Sharpton finally shedding some light on why he decided to lose weight and give up his infamous love for fried food. I'm shocked to read he used NO surgery, no pills or gimmicks for that matter. I was more so shocked to read what Rev. Sharpton's consumes on a daily basis.

I have recently become intrigued with taking on a healthier lifestyle but for me I love options and Sharpton's diet does nothing for my desire to have healthy and funky takes on southern treats.  I don't think it's fair to limit your self to eat the same thing every single day for the rest of your life. it's my opinion but I wonder could this be the new "IT" Diet of people wanting to loose massive amounts of weight without going under the knife.

CONFESSION I'M ASHAMED TO BEEN SEEN WITH A FAT GIR!

As you know I invite all my followers from all of my social media outlets to email me with either topics, confessions or a simple hello. In all honesty most emails are typical inquiries about clothing or hair but every once in awhile a email sparks my interest. I must admit I'm impressed at  this readers ability to be  transparent with his feelings and his struggle. I logged into my Mac Book with a cup of fresh brewed coffee and read for the first 30 minutes to an hour of my day. I scan threw subject lines of emails looking for nothing in particular when one hits me like a ton of bricks: I'm a Jock and I'm NOT suppose to like fat girls. I open it instantly both intrigued and interested to see what he meant exactly by NOT supposed to, as if it's sin or he will be stoned. I will be honest I'm frustrated with his statement at first. In time I've learned to listen to the entire story and really give people a chance to explain themselves.  So the email is as follow I have changed Names and Locations Just to protect this young mans image and Identity.

Hello,

I'm Kevin* and I live In Los Angeles land of the Rodeo Drive and Where Everyone is faking like their somebody but really arent. I've playe football my entire life and I'm currently in college trying to persue a football. I know every kid has that dream of going to NFL some of them make but alot of us don't. In my case I think I have a pretty good chance I'm not saying I will be a 1st Round Draft Pick but I do think I pretty decent. I first started looking at your fb page because you posted pictures of plus size women in a light I had never seen. I mean honestly going to a prodominatly white school hips and curves are very far and inbetween. As a Football Player I'm introduced to all kinds of women and everytime I set up on a blind date I'm disappointed. I'm always matched with the typical "IT" girl. I have had a desire for full figured women as far back as I can remember but I've always been ashamed. I admitted only once in high school when the guys started talking about girls and what they liked. I openly admited having a crush on Lisa* a curvy chinky eyed, carmel, and thick younglady who was the yearbook editor and came to almost every game. I got clowned for it they erupted in laughter and my new nickname became chubby chaser since then. When school ended and we are went out own wasys I was free from being called "chubby chaser". I felt as if I had done something so wrong by admitting that I like fuller women. In college now i stay clear of plus size women careful to not make eye contact or be overly friendly. I think most of the time Plus size girls may think because i'm a athlete I'm not interested in them  and don't even bother. The truth is I love them but I am afraid of the backlash or taunts I will receive for liking a BBW. I don't even watch regular porn (sory if this TMI) I always watch BBW women. My Question to you or even followers is as follows:  1. Am I alone in this thinking? 2. How do I get over this fear of being judged?

Thank you!

CLASSY IN TULLE: ESHAKTI REVIEW!

PRETTY IN TULLE: ESHAKTI REVIEW

I'm always skeptical about wearing tulle skirts because I feel like people always think of a tutu skirt.  When I mention to anyone I'm wearing tulle fabric the facial expressions they make are always priceless. I was elated when I was contacted by Eshakti to review one of their beautiful tulle skirts. I had just seen singer/rapper  Kelis rocking a pink floor length one on fashion bomb daily and fell in love. I thought I would have to call my designer to make me a replica by hand  but to my surprise Eshakti had them up to a size 36W. The thing I love about Eshakti is that you can custom order  your items to your desire. I love a tulle skirt that hits a little below the knee it's not too long and it's still gives you the chance to show off your shoes.

If you've been living under a rock and haven't followed me on IG yet (@afatgirlsblues) Then you wouldn't know  I am 2014 Miss Plus Universe. I was elated when I won and also excited about all the new avenues carrying a Title would bring.  I have a Royal court which Consist of The 1st runner up Miss Latequa Mills and 2nd runner up Miss Markita Pittman. I was so happy when Latequa said that she had wrote and Published her first book. I wouldn't miss her book signing for anything in the World. I decided to break out my Tulle Skirt and Pair it Leopard and Hues of cobalt blue. The look was classy and appropriate for the occasion since it was hosted in a sexy all white Ball Room.

SOMEONE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW: WEIGHT LOSS TRANSFORMATION

SOMEONE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW:

@MS_CHACI
WEIGHT LOSS INSPIRATION

I've decided to make my "someone you should follow" a weekly blog post because I find some of the most amazing stories on social media. I know that people when deciding to make a life change i.e. healthier life, moving, designing, etc.  we look to social media or the Internet to find ideas. In some cases people on social media threw their own lives can inspire so many people just by being themselves. I came across @Miss_Chaci on IG who is a shapely Latina with a amazing story about
her weight loss journey. She constantly post pictures with motivational quotes and pictures telling her more than 12k followers not to give up on a daily basis. She is not offering up  a gimmick or a quick fix which is what I love about her. She is saying If you want it you must work hard for it and it won't be easy and It won't be over night.

I know when deciding start a healthier lifestyle or start a weightless journey some get obsessed with the process. When deciding to take the natural way of losing weight without surgery or pills  the time it takes can be scary. In my opinion I love the fact that she has taken years to lose the weight the right way and she preaches that on her page all of the time. She is inspirational, beautiful and driven to get fit and healthy. So if you haven't followed @Miss_Chaci maybe you should tiptoe over to IG and do so like right now! If you're feeling down or need a boost don't be discouraged you have time on your side and the outcome will be great if you just wait on it and work hard for it.

WEDDINGS AND ANIMAL PRINT: UNDER $50!

 LOOKING HOT UNDER $50!

I know this may sound super duper cliche' but I love .....LOVE! So when I was invited to a Co-Workers wedding I was super excited about attending. I must admit when going to these kinds of functions I'm always in tears before the vows even start. I will say when attending events like this I cringe at the thought of what I'm going to wear. You must know your body type and when it comes down to mine I know I am very bottom heavy. I have struggled with my bottom part for sometime now. I mean who doesn't love hips and thighs in a bodycon dress but for certain looks they can be overwhelming in my opinion.

Macy's Inc sheer shirt w/cami On sale $14.99

Worthington Slit-Front Pencil Skirt $19.99

TOTAL: 34.98

This is a front slit skirt but some on my followers have stated that they have wore it backwards when uncomfortable with the split in the front and that works as well. I fell in love with each  piece separately from two separate blogs.  I decided not to match the white in the skirt with a white top. The gray top allows the skirt to stand out matched with some simple black heels the look is both classy and appropriate for the occasion. If you want to spice this look up u can use hues such as pink, cobalt blue, red and even orange.

SOMEONE YOU SHOULD FOLLOW: YOGA AND CURVES

YOGA HAS NO LIMITS: CURVY AND FLEXIBLE

So I have come across this young ladies pictures of several yoga poses all over tumblr, pinterest and of course YouTube. I must admit I wondered how a curvy woman could be so flexible and confident at the same time without speaking one word. I searched all over fb for a fan page to follow this diva with no luck. I must admit I was super excited when I finally found her on IG her post have inspired me to want to strengthen my core and be more flexible. You don't see many curvy women doing yoga because so many think that it can't be done and for that reason alone you should definitely find out and get to know @mynameisjessamyn on IG!

She also has a tumblr with a pretty detail FAQ section for those that want to know how she started and what she really gets from Yoga.  I think I will give either yoga or pole dancing a try but I am in fear of not having enough endurance.

WHITE HOT……BABY SHOWER EDITION

As you all know I have been on an extended vacation from blogging. I feel like it's like any other job or task sometimes you love and sometimes you DON'T. I read several blogs and some are just not giving me enough. I mean when I read or write a blog for me it's about being as REAL to my readers as they are to me. So let's just say I was feeling a little "discouraged from blogging" and leave it at that. I guess sometimes you just have to be the change u want to see in the world and hopefully everyone or at least a few catch on. So enough of that This week I attended a baby shower of a great friend of mine and decided to keep the attire simple and chic without breaking the bank. I more than likely always wear jeans to baby showers in fear someone will request me to play a game that requires me to have on pants. You can't go wrong with a maxi skirt or jeans because I try to win every single game.

 ASOS

I decided on both pieces from asos and they both were ON SALE which was even more of a reason to pick them up!

LIPPIE?

I'm always  getting questioned about my choice of lipstick or gloss this gloss is  Asian Flower by MAC. I basically wear it almost everyday and it's pretty neutral to me and not to overpowering how some pink or red lipsticks seem to be.

UNIQUE SHOES AREN'T ONLY FOR THE RICH AND FAMOUS!

So I was doing my normal browsing trends and sites like Saks and Pinterest and I ran across Sophia Webster and I would be lying if I didn't tell you how I browsed the web looking for her shoes and just wanting to know the designer of the such beautiful shoes. The price tag was no surprise for such beautiful shoes but I understand the average women in this economy most women can't drop $400+ dollars on one pair of  shoes. Which brings me to my latest blog post of showcasing unique shoes with a reasonable price tag for the average woman.

A DIVA CAN BE ON A BUDGET AND STILL FLY WITH THESE LOOKS

PRINTED JUMPERS: CASUAL FASHION

PRINTED JUMPERS: CASUAL FASHION

Now I love  good outfit that can be dressed up or dressed down and my snake printed jumper was perfect today. It seems as if my days off of work are always filled with running errands and being on my feet. Since Miami is such a social city my days of styling personal clients has reached a all time high. You would be surprised what I style people for i.e. dates, concerts, graduation and even funerals. I love my job however I don't love having aching feet from walking over 4 malls in one day.

It's so  ironic I wore this baby phat jumper after having a 2 hour long conversion with my co workers that brands like FUBU and baby phat were not as popular  as it was in the the 90's. I however am a firm believer in fashion and I really didn't care that it was from baby phat. I wonder if others would rock brands that the "urban" community have kind of left by the way side.

I paired this jumper suit was a pair of nine west flats and black clutch and hit the malls. I can't wait to dress this look up. I order a 3x but kind of wish I would've went down to a 2x to have a more fitted leg and it was loose in the tummy area.

USE PROMO CODE 15YES for 15% off your order

The color of my lip pie has been a frequently asked question on my IG it is Asian Flower by MAC and I honestly buy them 5 at a time because I love and use the color so much.

Must Have Creatvie Bags and Why I love Them

I must admit I'm a sucker for a nice bag and If I can get it at a reasonable price it's even better! In honesty for the first time in years I've stopped wearing my designer bags like Gucci and LV and focused on more realistic and affordable brands. I mean which gal doesn't love a designer bag but I love a variety as well. I'm not big on labels over quality. In some cases people think because you have brand like Gucci and LV that those straps don't break or the zipper doesn't malfunction well I'm here to tell you they DO! I love a good over sized clutch and I have ran into a few unique bags over the past few weeks.

MAKE A STATEMENT WITH A UNIQUE CLUTCH

After I posted this picture (pictured below) everyone wanted to know where I purchased my bag. I am avid believer of shopping around and I first spotted this clutch on karmaloop for $40 dollars but after searching the web I found them for $26 from swaychic.com

ALSO ON SWAYCHIC.COM

I also purchased this  censored clutch and have yet to figure out how I will rock it. The website kind of reminds me of a cheaper version of karmaloop. My item arrived on time and was as pictured which was awesome

Michael Kors: A First

I got this Michael Kors bag from Macy's at a awesome price during Macy's family and friend's sale. it's original price was $298 but it was on sale for $222 with an additional 25% off I only paid $160. I couldn't pass it up I just couldn't it's like it was calling my name saying buy me. FIND IT HERE!
