DIET DILEMMA!

So I asked the question on my fb page for afatgirlsblues be sure to like me on fb the link is posted right ^above^. The question posed was how happy are you with your size are you truely embrassing your weight as a fat girl or do you desire to be smaller?

So here is my personal journey with weight all my teen life I was 140 lbs yes me a buck fourty can  you imagine. well let's just say after graduation I received a job that allowed me the perks of fine dining in five star restaurants and the food took over. I am not a major snack person I don't eat junk food I eat good food I always joke about that. People think that being fat you got there by eating twinkies and little debbie snacks. welp newsflash it always isn't the case I know several of my friends who don't even eat junk food. I have a friend who actually only eats healthy and she is still big but she's healthy.

A friend of mines recently talked about using HCG I did my research and it seems have been around for sometime now? so how far would you go to lose weight? and would you consider trying something like HCG? I really would like to lose 50 lbs but right now I'm just trying to figure out which direction to go about it. How have diet treated you.

  1. I have had times in my life when I wanted to try pills and things but I'm afraid that even if I lose the weight it'll come back if I do it the wrong way. I would suggest just being serious about incorporating exercise everyday since you already don't ea bad and the weight will start coming off and stay off. The only thing that ever worked for me was slimfast ..it gave me energy and helped me to learn to eat less and smaller portions of real food. Even when I stopped drinking the shakes the weight stayed off. Good luck!!!!!!!

  2. I am currently on HCG...It works but it takes Work. You can hit me if you have any questions. At the end of the day it's a lifestyle change. You have to do what makes you feel good and the best for your body.

  3. Hey Linda, its me Ashley from facebook. I say dont try the HGC. From the research I've done on it, it looks like most of the weight loss is coming from the restricted calorie portion (i think some plans say to eat 500 calories a day?) rather than the drops. I really think that most diet aides like pills, HGC drops only work because you are restricting your calorie intake either by appetite suppressants etc. My sister recently lost weight like 2 years ago. She went from being a size 14 to a size 2-4. She didnt use any pills or drops or anything. She changed her eating habits and worked out 5-6 days per week. Its been amazing to see her keep the weight off. It has encouraged me to try to go about my own weight loss journey.

  4. I think it would be extremely hard to restrict yourself to 500 calories a day. If you're serious about losing the weight, I would just work out since you already eat good.

IMO you look great and you don't need to lose anything but I know its all in the way YOU feel. I'm kind of in between with how I feel about my body, I love my thickness but there are times when I wish my arms and legs weren't so big but over all I'm comfortable with my size.

  6. You're a pretty girl and your body has so much potential, but I agree with you... you can afford to lose at least 50 lbs. Not just for your appearance but also for your health. And to everyone that says that they eat properly but don't understand why they are over weight, that's the most rediculous (ignorant) thing I've ever heard. Consult with a nutritionist to find out what your problem is. If indeed you're eating right but can't lose weight, then you might have an underlying health condition like Thyroid disease or something. You can do it! The energy and confidence you put into shopping, try puting it into a weight loss mission.... you'll lose those 50 lbs in no time. Honey you're just a success story waiting to happen. I believe in you. (I hope I didn't offend you)

  8. from 1 fat girl to the next I've done 3 rounds of HCG. have I lot weight yes but those were the worst 21 days of my life. You're hungry, sleepy, upset and simply miserable throughout the entire process. It was not worth the weight loss cause it comeback hell fast. What finally worked for me was somebody I found on youtube.. I watched her progress and was I like yeah whatever diet shakes.. but I did everything she said tired it for 30 days and Ive lost 23 pounds already and like 12 inches. http://www.easywayshow.com/ is her website with ALL the information. She is mad annoying lol but if you read through order the shakes (dietdirect.com) and and etc YOU will be successful loose the weight and find some permanent results.

P.S. I did I see you in Dockers?!

  10. I understand the frustrations. I'm not a snacker and I eat sweets every once in a while. I used to be an athlete yet I was still the thick one on the team, l0l. I've learned that part of my body composition is pure genetics. We're all stacked (and I get from both sides). Playing sports I was constantly moving burning energy, but no I'm not as active and I'm learning not to eat the same when I was playing. I've decided to go the old fashion route by watching what I eat and hitting up the gym. I've recently started back on weight watchers and it's working for me. I'm blogging about it, so if you want to know what ease/challenges I'm having with my weight loss journey check it out (they're called "Weigh In Wednesday").

  11. I am doing my own weight loss journey and I have to say it is awesome. Weight Watcher's works great for me and HGC just straight up scares me. The risks, I just can't with all of that haha

  13. I've been about 60 pounds over the high end of my 'suggested weight,' for a few years now. In July I found out I'm somewhat insulin resistant, my good cholesterol was about 11 points too low, and I'm slightly anemic. So I'm not in *perfect health,* but these are things I can work on.

Basically, if I eat healthier (less sugars, simple carbs, bad fats), exercise more, and take iron supplements, I'd see improvements.

And I've been doing just that. All of my stats are improving and on top of that I've lost about 7 pounds. I will say being healthy is my top priority, but since weight loss has come with it, I'm even happier.

I'm not on any special diet or exercise plan, I just work on making better choices. I think it's easier to try make healthy choices or try to lose weight gradually. It's very easy to give up or fail making drastic changes!

Good luck and I love your blog!

  14. I am currently on the hcg diet and it's worked wonderful so far. I have more energy I'm not tired and sluggish and have not experienced one headache. I have lost 27 pounds so far and I have 25 more to lose to reach my goal. 500 calories initially sounded so restrictive to me but I plan my meals, stick to them and I drink during and in between my meals. To each his own but I recommend trying it first and if it doesn't work for you then try something else. Ultimately it's a mind set to losing weight it's about being healthy and this is the healthiest I ever been in my life. You are a beautiful lady and I love your style....... :)

  17. I don't recommend the HCG plan.

I do recommend working with a dietitian - who can help you craft a healthy eating plan. (The HCG diet restricts your calories to a 1/3 of what would be recommended for a non-active, small and short woman. My biggest issue with this diet is that it does not teach people how to eat properly after its over). I worked one on one with a dietitian to eat more healthy...no wacky foods or no deprivation.

Something not talked about enough...if you lose weight too rapidly...you put yourself at greater risk for health issues, loose skin, etc.

I totally recommend working out! No matter what you weigh - whether you are losing or maintaining...Working out makes things look better...skin, nails, body....
