OOTN:FAMILY FUN!

I know I'm usually a dress and heels person and it's partially because I can't find a great jean to fit me correctly. I have been on a serious hunt for them. My hips and thighs are huge and my waist doesn't match it so I will have pants that fit great in the legs and loose and bulky at the waist. I was told to go to DOTS and give there pants a try since I have been rocking Old Navy pants for the past few months. I loved them and ended up buying at least 4 pair in every color they had. I took the chance to wear them at an outing with the family.

DON'T BE FOOLED: FAKE MAC MAKE UP

There I was sitting in a salon patiently waiting to get my hair done and in walk in a woman. She is in her mid 20's  and faboulously dressed. She proceeds to introduce heself speaking aloud in the middle of the salon. She gives her name and her title of Make Up Artist. She definetly looks the part contoured cheeks and Nose to the Gods! She open her LV luggage and proceeds to empty it contents all over the floor. She has come equipped with MAC! Now I know we all the love a bargain even me but when my health and skin is at risk I Can't! I noticed the quality of her make up was flawed the containers were cheaply made and the words MAC were not as defined as the ones I'm use to buying. Her prices were reasonable and Dirt cheap I mean if It wasn't real it couldn't do that much damage.....WRONG! Even thou items are bootlegged everyday makeup is a whole other world.

Where to Buy Authentic MAC Cosmetics

If you want to be sure that the products (for any brand!) you are getting are authentic, you will want to shop at the following places:

• Actual storefronts for the brand (i.e. MAC shops/boutiques)
• The brand’s official website/store
• Reputable sellers that would stake their reputation to sell authentic products (think Smart Poppy or Strawberry Net [ETA: A commenter has reported that StrawberryNET has been brushing off reports of them selling fake MAC])
• People you actually know whom you trust who are selling their pre-loved makeup

Places to Avoid

• Flea markets
• Mall kiosks
• Grocery stores
• eBay (this place is SWARMING with fakes!)
• Beauty supply stores and salons
• “Resellers” and “Wholesalers” – MAC does not allow wholesalers

The packaging is different from the original. Again, if it’s different from the original, it’s fake. No MAC makeup product comes with an applicator. The number one indicator that yours is fake is if there is a little compartment under the eyeshadow/blush/whatever pot that houses applicators/brushes. Here are just a few packaging anomalies:

• Fake products will have different fonts and different stickers.
• The color of the packaging is off.
• The packaging may seem right on, but there are various small differences. Check this post by Dawn on fake MAC lipstick to see one example.
• They are usually fatter/taller than the original (when applicable, this is in order to make room for the compartment for the applicator).
• Fake MAC pigments will have some sort of 2nd cover or stopper on the jar while the authentic jar does not.

The label is in numbers and letters rather than an actual name. I think this is self explanatory. MAC eyeshadows have names like “Carbon” and “Woodwinked”. Fake MAC eyeshadows usually are “001″ “023″ and so on. The
same applies for other products. Be careful however, counterfeiters are getting smarter and have begun making labels with actual names too (just like in Dawn’s post).
The product does not exist on the brand’s actual product roster. Another self explanatory thing. Check online to see if the product you want to buy is listed in the official website, whether in current products or discontinued products. If it’s not in there, it’s probably fake.

FUR AND ME...

I have seen fur as popular as ever trending as of lately i absolutely love the concept of fur for this season. As a Floridian wearing fur is not high on our list of things to do mainly because of the weather. However i found this cute green sweat with detachable faux fur at Macy's and fell in love! The weather today is not ready for boots but definitely flats or closed in shoes.

So it didn't surprise me when celebs and bloggers started following the trend. I think they are lovely I would need a bigger frame for my face since my cheeks are so fat.

MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK!

In a world where things get copied and re copied over and over again. I have learned that if it's not  KEY piece in my wardrobe I can afford to spend $30-$40 on a dress wear it once or twice and be done with it. I hate when I see something I love and  then I see it cheaper somewhere else. These are my some of my favorite items that I have been watching and happened to find something "similar" for a much lesser value!

Now I don't know about you but this to much of a Jump and I have ordered from evans and trust me Honey their clothes aren't that well made for me not to take Forever 21 up on their offer. So sorry evans You loose!

Now This isn't that bad of a jump I actually own both pairs of these shoes one from target and one from jessica simpson (which I got a bit cheaper because I used a coupon code). You pay for what you get and although the the Target ones are nice and very comfy that pink was calling my name! They both are comfy but Jessica Simpson is a bit better made. All in All this was is a Draw you can't loose!

I went to Macy's and actually tried the Steve Madden Flats on and baby them things were hard as rock. I just knew I was going to be uncomfortable in them. I couldn't resist my desire for the leopard I needed and there was nothing I wouldn't do to feed my leopard obsession. I'm a suffer for that print I swear. I found these at Target for $20. After posting pics of them on my Instagram (afatgirlsblues). I was told stores like catos and kmart had them for under $20.

I Hope this has encouraged you to look around and if all fails hold on to your receipts I do because sometimes I don't wear things and when I find them for a cheaper price THEY GO BACK TO THE STORE!

Well it looks like everyone is jumping on the "Tomboy Fresh Movement" and singer, actor and songwriter Alicia Keys has joined in on the fun. Today Reebok premieres  a new Classics campaign for Autumn/Winter 2012 featuring Alicia Keys. The singer will not only star in the global campaign but also will launch her own signature collection for the brand. The collection of Classics will include new takes on the Freestyle Hi, Freestyle Double Bubble, Classic Nylon Slim and Princess sneakers in her favorite colorways and materials.  I actually Love the detail and the piano on the back I may have to tip on over to Macy's! 

I loved the way she paired this combo....... I guess Ms. Keys is on a role first the hair and now the sneakers. I never really took her for the sneaker type and I KNOW sneaker heads!
