FOREVER 21 BATHING SUIT REVIEW: AFATGIRLSBLUES

FOREVER 21 BATHING SUIT REVIEW: AFATGIRLSBLUES

My relationship with bathing suits have honestly evolved so drastically and dramatically over the years. I was the girl with the jeans and the over sized shirt and a one piece underneath it but never even bothered to get in the water. I have balanced the line of being shy/uncomfortable with my body (which is an entire other blog post). In the past years I have watched swimsuits for plus size women evolve tremendously. We have gone from once wearing a  one pieces with over sized shirts and cover ups  into a two piece with no cover up at all! I know it may seem like it was overnight for us but honestly It wasn't. I'm super surprised with Forever21 and exactly how much love and attention they are showing us curvy gals this year.  I notice that I have not seen a lot of actual reviews on the bathing suits itself so here I am doing a HONEST one!

PROS

  1. GREAT STRETCH
  2. AWESOME PATTERNS AND COLORS
  3. GREAT PRICE
  4. TRUE TO FIT (MOSTLY)

CONS

  1. BACK STRAP IS NOT WIDE ENOUGH
  2. CUP SUPPORT ON THE OLDER BATHING SUITS (THE MOST RECENT HAS BUILT IN BRA)

I happen to love the patterns and the overall fit of the bathing suit I opted to go for a 2x because I like for the brief to be a bit smaller for some form of tummy control. I don't mind my stomach I just hate the giggle. I feel as if the 2x gives me the tummy control without being to tight in the butt area. I'm glad they are giving us gals the option purchase the brief and the top separate. Like Most women my measurements are a little out of whack. The perfect fit for me is actually a 2x bottom and a 3x top because I am so busty. In a world of bathing suits that can cost you a almost a hundred bucks  in some cases that's just for the bottom Forever 21 is a breath of fresh air to a diva on a budget.

The bathing suits from last year didn't come with a built in cup which I hated. I noticed with my new bathing suit that a built in cup was installed and it kept the girls intact without having to wear a secondary bra underneath like I've seen other busty ladies do to accomplish a support system. The back scrap for me may not be wide enough if you have extra love handles on your back or side area. I mean if you don't care about them showing that's even better. In my opinion  you will never have enough fabric to cover all your flaws this is when you true confidence shines bright. So when the summer or spring arrives and you're thinking about those jean shorts and tee I say  swap it for a fashionable bathing suit and feel and look sexy!

  3. You look fabulous!!! WERK!
F21 Killed my wallet on so many levels this season. I have ordered THREE suits from them already (one I returned, but kept the other two), and i'm sure to order more if they keep abusing me with the fierceness this season! The one thing that I wish they would have done was add a little wire or made a longline bra version. I would have gladly paid an extra 10-30 bucks if it had wire. I hope they keep it up!
